The incredible run by the St. Joseph boys basketball team at the tournament it is hosting came to an end in the championship game. The Knights lost 57-30 to Westchester from Los Angeles in the final game of the four day National Prep Classic. St. Joseph beat Westchester 67-62 in overtime on Wednesday. The first meeting was part of the Prep Classic but not part of the tournament that started on Thursday at Allan Hancock College.
Westchester jumped out to a 19-7 lead after the first quarter and were ahead 32-9 at the half. St. Joseph drops to 3-1 while Westchester improves to 8-4.
The Knight improbable run to the championship game started with a 50-30 win against Palmdale on Thursday. St. Joseph then beat defending Division-3 San Diego Section champion Cathedral Catholic in the semifinals on Friday, 58-54.
