LOWER LAKE, Calif. (AP) - Crews have made progress against a wildfire in Lake County that has destroyed one residence and 10 vehicles and forced evacuations.
The fire along Highway 29 outside the community of Lower Lake has burned 300 acres since it began on Thursday afternoon. State fire officials say crews have been able to stop its forward progression.
It is now 30 percent contained.
The fire forced the evacuation of two subdivisions and at one point threatened dozens of homes. The evacuation order for one of the subdivisions has been lifted, while the other remains in place.
