A local author is speaking about suicide prevention Wednesday night.
Jay Asher wrote the New York Times Bestseller, "Thirteen Reasons Why."
He speaks at the 4th annual Journey of Hope in Pismo Beach.
Organizations like Transitions-Mental Health Association's Peer Advisory and Advocacy Team and Friday Night Live are teaming up to put on the event, which will include a local resource fair and film screening.
The film, "Our Personal Journeys: Mental Health Awareness on Campus," was created by Cal Poly University's Week of Welcome (WOW) Awareness Committee.
Journey of Hope is at New Life Church from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
