A local company is recycling people's trash and selling it back to the community.
North County Recycling in Paso Robles is "Living the Green Life".
Every year it processes more than 24,000 tons of green waste, residential, commercial and construction recyclables.
Everything from metal, construction waste and green waste can be brought to the facility.
"We process it here at our facility and we try to reconstitute all that we can and reprocess and then sell it back to the community," said owner Bran Goodrow.
A lot of the green waste goes to a ranch in Creston where it is composted and then sold as mulch.
Local wineries also buy the recycled waste to use as fertilizer in their vineyards.
The company moved to Paso Robles from Southern California in 2001.
It was the first of its kind in the area.
