Lompoc, Mission football finish ranked in final State Divisional poll

Two Central Coast high school football teams finished the year ranked in the top six in the state in their divisions. Cal-Hi Sports, the popular prep website, released its 35th annual State Division Rankings for the 2012 season.

Lompoc finished #6 in the state in Division II. The Braves went 12-1 under head coach Andrew Jones. They saw their 32 game winning streak snapped in the CIF semifinals to eventual State Champion Serra. The Cavaliers are ranked #1 in the state.

Chad Henry's Mission Prep squad was ranked #4 in California in Division V. Mission went 11-2 and lost in the CIF championship game to Rio Hondo Prep, which ended up #3 in the state.

The Royals' were led by quarterback Tyler Baty, who threw for 45 touchdown passes his senior season. Baty finished his high school career as San Luis Obispo County's all-time leader in career touchdown passes with 92. Joey Hall caught 60 passes for 1,365 yards and 24 touchdowns as a senior.
