Lompoc High junior defensive end Ainuu Taua lands on his third All-State Football Team of the year.
The 6-2, 285 pound lineman was named to Cal-Hi Sports' All-State Second Team Overall Defense on Tuesday. The popular prep website finished unveiling its 34th annual All-State Team. Taua was one of just two juniors on the All-State Second Team, 27 other players on the team were seniors.
Taua was a dominant force on the line for the Braves, who finished 12-1 and lost in the CIF semifinals to eventual CIF State champion Serra. He recorded 49 tackles, 1 interception returned for a touchdown, forced 2 fumbles and had 7 sacks his junior year.
He was named the Los Padres League's Defensive Lineman of the Year in 2012.
Taua is regarded as one of the top defensive line recruits in the nation from the Class of 2014. According to recruiting websites, Taua has received offers from UCLA, Cal, Hawaii, Arizona, Washington, Utah and Vanderbilt.
Earlier this month, Taua was named to Cal-Hi Sports' All-State Juniors First Team and to MaxPreps' All-State Second Team for Division III.
