Lompoc High School senior football player Ainuu Taua was named to the US Army All-American Bowl during a ceremony in front of the school on Monday. Taua is one 90 seniors from around the country selected for the game. The All-Star game, in its 14th season will be on January 4th in San Antonio on KSBY.
"It means a lot to me cause I used to always watch this game and I'm ready to play in it" said Taua who will play on the defensive line for the West team.
"He's an All-American basically. The game is nationally televised on KSBY, it's a huge deal to be considered a top 100 prospect in the country" said Lompoc football coach Andrew Jones.
Taua is still undecided on where he'll continue his football career but says UCLA, Wisconsin, Arizona and Ole Miss are the favorites. The 6'0", 290 pounder playes offensive and defensive line for the 4-1 Braves but will likley play defensive tackle in college.
