After being in business almost 66 years, a local store is saying its farewell to northern San Luis Obispo County.
Grisanti Hardware in Atascadero will close its doors on Monday.
Rick Grisanti owns the store with his sister, Rosemary, but says their parents opened the store back in 1947.
At just 13-years-old, his dad would bring him to the store and as he got older, he would help out before going to school.
But Grisanti says the store just couldn't quite make it.
He says with the recession, and the housing market going down a few years ago, the business has never been able to recover.
Grisanti says that while he will never say he'll never go back, he is going to get out of the hardware game for a while.
Store hours for the next two days will be Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The store is located at 5890 Entrada Avenue in Atascadero.
