ATWATER, Calif. (AP) - The Merced county sheriff says three teenagers were killed and two other people were injured at what investigators are calling a shooting between rival gangs at an Easter party.
Sheriff Mark Pazin told the Merced Sun-Star (http://bit.ly/10qPsXV) that the 16-year-old girl died Sunday at a Modesto hospital where she was taken for surgery.
Pazin says a group of reputed gang members was able to sneak up on the party where some rival gang members were gathered late Saturday night and opened fire.
The sheriff says in addition to the girl, an 18-year-old man and a 19-year-old man were shot and killed.
He says a 16-year-old boy and a 21-year-old man were also injured, but they are expected to survive.
There have been no reports of any arrests.
