(KGNS) Typically, amusement parks are thought to have roller coasters and water rides, fun for the whole family.
A new attraction is anything but that. In fact, it's not a ride at all. It's a simulation of what goes into getting across the border from Mexico to the U.S.
"I don't see the fun in it."
This man says he wouldn't go to the park because it's exploiting the situation. The experience takes a total of four hours to complete.
"People come over here to have a better life for themselves."
He says no one should benefit from that. But at nearly $20 a person, the park is making a profit.
The unique experience of simulating illegally crossing from Mexico into the U.S is drawing thousands of people.
Another man tells us it's not a good idea and says he would not take his family to do this. The attraction includes a 7 1/2 mile hike, climbing under fences, running through brush and hitting the ground if anyone sees a flashlight.
"They're seeking, trying to make their lives work and these people are making fun of them."
But his son on the other hand says he doesn't see anything wrong with pretending to illegally cross the border.
"Maybe it's because their kids are saying come on, let's go to that ride because we as kids want to have fun. You think that would be fun? Yes."
One woman who has family in Mexico says her family might go just out of curiosity but not for fun.
"I don't think it's creative or educational. I don't know what the purpose of it is." of people.
