After 17 years of business, local restaurant Mondeo Pronto is closed.

The restaurant in the downtown center between Higuera and Marsh Streets in San Luis Obispo posted a sign on its door, thanking customers for their years of loyal patronage and support.

Some local establishments say they have had a difficult time keeping up with business, partly because corporate chains have been moving downtown.

Signed by Mondeo's Staff the last sentence on the sign says, "Please continue to support your local economy."
