Mustangs win third straight, top San Jose St. 5-3

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The Cal Poly baseball team improved to 7-1 on the season with a 5-3 victory at San Jose State on Tuesday.

The Mustangs got another solid outing from freshman Justin Calomeni, who allowed three runs over five innings of work and retired the last 10 batters he faced.

The Cal Poly offense was paced by Alex Torres, who slugged his third homerun of the season in the fourth inning.

Reed Reilly came on for the Mustangs with one out in the eighth inning, retiring five of the six batters he faced and earning his third save in as many opportunities.

The Mustangs open a three game series at USC beginning on Friday night.
