National Homeless Persons' Memorial Day

Thursday is National Homeless Persons' Memorial Day.

Thursday evening the Homeless Services Oversight Council is hosting a candle light vigil.

It's at five p.m. on the San Luis Obispo Courthouse steps.

The vigil is to remember homeless people who have lost their lives due to the cold weather.

County Supervisor Jim Patterson will be making an announcement.

In 2011 in SLO County nearly 3,800 people were homeless.
