Santa Barbara police officers are revealing more information about the events that led up to a shooting yesterday.

It happened in the 1500 block of Gillespie Street. Officers say a white man in his 30's knocked on the door of a home, and when a woman answered, he punched her in the stomach. The woman's nephew tried to protect her, but the suspect shot him in the head at close range.

The shooting victim is in serious but stable condition, and was able to relay information about the crime to officers.

Police are still searching for a suspect. They say he left the scene with two black men in their 20's, and one white woman with long blonde hair, also in her 20's. All of the suspects were in a black Volvo that appeared dirty and unkempt. If you have any information, call police.
