New Paso Robles Chief of Police to be sworn in Tuesday

Paso Robles' new Chief of Police will be sworn in Tuesday evening.

Robert Burton was appointed by the Paso Robles City Council on June 18 after a competitive hiring process and a nationwide search.

Burton has been with the Paso Robles Police Department for 17 years and has lived on the Central Coast for more than 40 years.

He has served as the acting Chief of Police since March of 2012 when then Chief Lisa Solomon handed in her letter of resignation.

The ceremony starts at 6:30 p.m. in the Paso Robles City Council Chambers.
