A new report from the CDC looks back at the 2013 to 2014 flu season.
The season began earlier than usual before peaking in late December.
Influenza can pop up during summer months too.
This year, the flu was more severe for people over age 65, and it was the first year since 2009 that hospitalizations were higher for people between the ages of 50 and 64.
95 children died from the flu this past season. That's a lot lower than the 348 flu-related pediatric deaths reported during the 2009 swine flu pandemic.
