New store provides free clothes and resources for students in need

There is a new clothing store and resource store for kids in need.

Outreach Apparel opened in San Luis Obispo Friday.

The store on the Pacific Beach High School campus provides free clothing and school supplies for junior high and high school-aged kids.

The school has seventeen homeless students. All of them, including other students, volunteer to manage and operate the store.

Organizers of the store say the students learn managerial skills, teamwork, and responsibility.

Outreach Apparel is part of the Children's Resource Network of the Central Coast.

Lisa Ray, CEO of the organization, told KSBY, "San Luis Costal Unified School District has given us both a sorting facility and this second teens closet program building."

Pacific Beach High School is on Los Osos Valley Road.

Ray said Home Depot and Old Navy helped organize the new store.
