OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - An Oakland man has been sentenced to 35 years in prison for helping kill a man at an Occupy Oakland camp and sexually assaulting a woman at gunpoint days later.
The Oakland Tribune (http://bit.ly/Ys0dh9 ) says Isaac McDaniels was sentenced Thursday under a deal that saw him plead guilty to being an accessory to a felony and the sexual assault.
McDaniels acknowledged that he helped beat 25-year-old Kayode Foster and gave his gun to the man charged with killing him during a 2011 confrontation at an Occupy Oakland tent city. Norris Terrell has been charged with murder.
Five days after the shooting, McDaniels pulled a gun on a woman as she walked home alone from work and forced her to commit a sexual act.
