Authorities have one person in custody following a pursuit in Atascadero Tuesday morning.

The California Highway Patrol says a high speed pursuit started in Cayucos around 7:10 AM. The driver led police on a chase on Highway 46 West then headed toward Atascadero. That's when the driver crashed his vehicle and ran off.

The CHP and Atascadero Police were searching for two suspects.

Anyone in the area is asked to stay inside and lock their doors.

The Atascadero Unified School District has currently placed two schools on lock down as a precautionary measure.

San Benito Elementary School and Del Rio Continuation High School are on lock down. The school district says the Atascadero Police suggested they take precautionary measures as the CHP and police search for the suspects.

KSBY has a crew headed to the scene.
