Oregon group targets binge drinking among young

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - A Eugene coalition is trying to put a dent in the binge drinking it says is taken for granted in the city known for rowdy parties in the University of Oregon neighborhoods.
KVAL-TV (http://bit.ly/RvMmm8 ) reports the Eugene Prevention Coalition has asked about 20 retailers not to market alcohol using drinking games, such as by selling the cups and balls for Beer Pong. It's also asking that alcohol displays not be tied to university athletics.
Health officials say alcohol-related death rates in the county are twice the national average.
