Pac 7 Girls Hoops: Dunlap helps Knights clinch league title, SLO and PV girls win

Tatiana Dunlap was unstoppable as the St. Joseph High girls basketball team clinched at least a share of the Pac 7 League title with a 66-46 home win over Atascadero on Monday night.

The Knights stayed undefeated in league at 10-0 and 16-7 overall. St. Joseph is ranked #2 this week in the Division 4A CIF coaches poll. The Greyhounds, who are ranked 7th in Division 3AA, fell to 5-5 in league and 13-8 on the year.

Dunlap scored a game-high 37 points to lead the Knights. Amani White added 12 for St. Joseph. The Knights, who won the Pac 7 title in 2010-11, can capture the outright title with a win Wednesday at San Luis Obispo or at Paso Robles on Friday.

Pioneer Valley stayed a game-and-a-half back of the Knights with 55-35 win over Righetti. The Panthers are 9-2 in league play and 18-5 for the season.

Ali Rodriguez led the Panthers with 22 points, while Nicole De La Guerra added 13 points.

PV has a bye on Wednesday before ending league play Friday in Atascadero.

The San Luis Obispo girls overcame a nine point deficit with less than three minutes to play in regulation to stun rival Arroyo Grande 44-41 in overtime. Christine Freberg led the Tigers with 16 points, Jessica Judge added 12 and Erica Chandler scored 9. Alex Mero led the Eagles with 10 points.

The Tigers are 7-3 in league and 13-10 for the year. The Eagles, the defending league champions, fell to 2-9 in league and 9-15 overall.

SLO hosts the Knights on Wednesday and plays at Righetti Friday. AG closes the season on Wednesday at home against Paso Robles.
