Paso Robles is now a "bike-friendly" community.
The League of American Bicyclists gives the distinction to communities working to improve bike path conditions and promote cycling.
Paso recently opened a new off-street bike network along River Road.
The city, county ride-share and the SLO County Bike Coalition also started a bike safety training program with the Paso Robles School District for kids. It starts in the fall.
