Paso Robles police starts "Special Enforcement Team"

A new "Special Enforcement Team" is being born at the Paso Robles Police Department.

The team, known as "SET" focuses on drug and gang-related crime.

Lieutenant Ty Lewis says the team was put in place because of requests from the community to address drug and gang problems in the area.

"Their pro-activity will help us on a proactive basis address drugs and gangs which will also alleviate the work load from our patrol officers," said Paso Robles Police Lt. Ty Lewis.

Just two officers make up the team.

Sergeant Tod Rehner has 15 years of experience with the department and detective Tony Ruiz has worked in Paso for 18 years.

To report drug or gang activity, you can contact the "SET" officers directly at 805-227-7496.
