Patriotic 4th musical celebration on tap in Santa Barbara

If you want to enjoy a classic patriotic celebration this 4th of July, head to Santa Barbara County Courthouse Sunken Gardens this Friday.

The West Coast Symphony Orchestra will perform a concert of inspiring and patriotic American orchestral masterpieces at 5pm Friday, July 4th in the Gardens. The early performance allow plenty of time for dinner downtown, and a walk to the fireworks show off Santa Barbara Harbor.

The West Coast Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Founder/Conductor Christopher Story VI and Associate Conductor Dr. Michael Shasberger, will present a concert of American favorites, including Summertime from George Gershwin's Porgy & Bess; Hoe-Down from Aaron Copland's ballet Rodeo; highlights from Camelot; Morton Gould's American Salute; American national songs like America The Beautiful, Battle Hymn of the Republic and God Bless America, and traditional 4th of July Sousa marches including Stars and Stripes Forever.

The concert will also feature The Channel City Barbershop Chorus in a medley of popular favorites. For more information, click here.
