A popular sandwich topping could help doctors diagnose Alzheimer's disease.
Researchers at the University of Florida found peanut butter can be used in smelling tests to confirm if someone has Alzheimer's. They had patients sniff a small amount of peanut butter with each nostril separately. People who had already been diagnosed with Alzheimer's could smell the peanut butter with their right nostril before the left one.
Experts say the next step is testing the theory on patients with early memory problems.
