Pet Therapy program dresses up dogs in Halloween costumes

Therapy dogs are getting in the halloween spirit for their visits to patients at three local hospitals. The Dignity Health of the Central Coast offers a Pet Therapy program to help patients who are recovering. Studies show that animals can have a positive effect on patients physiology. The pets can also reduce the feeling of stress and anxiety. The therapy dogs are getting dressed up in costumes Tuesday. Patients will even have the opportunity to take photos with the pets. The dogs will go to Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria, Arroyo Grande Community Hospital, and French Hospital in San Luis Obispo.
