MOORPARK, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a pickup truck driver has died after colliding with an Amtrak train in rural Ventura County.

Amtrak spokesman Vernae Graham says the northbound Pacific Surfliner collided with the truck at a private crossing in Moorpark shortly before 10:30 a.m. Monday.

Nobody on the train was hurt but three other trains were delayed up to 1½ hours.

Sherri Wilson, a CHP office supervisor, says a man in his 40s was breathing and coherent when he was pulled from the wreckage of the Toyota Tundra but he died at the scene.

His name has not been released and the CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.

Moorpark is about 30 miles northwest of Los Angeles.
