Police arrested a man on Saturday in connection with a deadly hit and run that happened on January 15th.

California Highway Patrol officers say they were able to gather enough evidence to arrest 78-year-old Lau Van Yuynh of Murrieta. Yuynh was arrested for Felony Hit and Run and booked in the Santa Barbara County Jail. His bail is set at $1,000,000.

The January 15th accident happened on the southbound 101 near Ortega Street. CHP officers say the victim was already dead when they arrived at the scene. He was later identified as Simon Chavez, the junior varsity baseball coach at Santa Barbara High School.

The CHP says they're still investigating the accident, and they expect to make additional arrests.
