FAIRFIELD, Calif. (AP) - Authorities have released the name of 13-year-old girl who was found dead Friday morning in a Fairfield park.
Fairfield police identified the girl as Genelle Renee Conway-Allen. Investigators also released a video image they say was captured minutes before she disappeared late Thursday afternoon.
Genelle was reported missing around 5:45 p.m. Thursday by her guardian at the foster home in nearby Suisun City where she lived.
Police say her naked body was found a little before 7 a.m. Friday by a passerby in Fairfield's Alan Park, who then flagged down a police officer who was driving by.
The park is about three miles from where Genelle was last seen.
Police have not said how the girl died, and have not released any suspect information, but they did say they expected to release more information some time Wednesday.
