LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles police say a blood-covered man who was tackled and arrested after a deadly apartment shooting is an Iraq war veteran who suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder.
Thirty-two-year-old Ricardo Tapia was arrested Friday night after police were sent to a Reseda apartment complex by reports that a man had opened fire in several directions.
KABC-TV (http://bit.ly/JPHINN ) says the apartment manager was critically injured and her husband was killed.
Police say they found Tapia unarmed but shirtless and covered in blood. They say he charged officers and it took several to subdue him. He remains jailed.
Police say that Tapia suffers from PTSD as a result of multiple Middle East deployments.
There's no word on a motive for the attack but some witnesses say they saw him shouting incoherently.
