The Santa Maria Police Department says three people are behind bars after kidnapping a victim and robbing him. At approximately 6:19 p.m. on Friday, police were called to the 2000 block of North Western Avenue to talk to the victim of the kidnapping and investigate the situation.
According to officials, two people took the victim to a home in northern Santa Maria. They robbed him, held him against his will, and later forced him into a vehicle. The victim tried to escape from the vehicle, but he was threatened with a weapon. Eventually, he was dropped off on North Western Avenue.
Police located two people driving the vehicle the victim said he was driven in. The drivers were later identified as 19-year-old Jose Arredondo (pictured) and 20-year-old Annabel Hilario.
Officers served a search warrant at the home they had held the victim in and made a third arrest. That man was later identified as 22-year-old Juan Hilario.
They were booked for robbery, kidnapping, false imprisonment, and gang enhancement in the Santa Barbara County Jail.
Police are not releasing the name of the victim.
