Powerful bombing at Egypt police station kills 12

MANSOURA, Egypt (AP) - Egypt's interim government is accusing the Muslim Brotherhood of orchestrating an attack on a police headquarters north of Cairo today that killed 12 people and wounded more than 100.

The powerful blast in Mansoura is believed to have been caused by a car bomb.

But the Brotherhood is condemning the bombing, describing it as a "direct attack on the unity of the Egyptian people" and demanding that the attackers be found and brought to justice.

It was the first major bombing in the Nile Delta Previous deadly violence has mostly taken place in the volatile Sinai Peninsula and in Suez Canal-area cities east of the Egyptian capital.
