SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - Fall camp is underway for the Cal Poly football team and as of Monday, no starter has been named at the quarterback position.
The Mustangs are coming off a season in which three different quarterbacks started at least two games each and with four weeks away from the start of this year's campaign, the competition is still neck-and-neck between Dano Graves and Chris Brown.
Both are coming off their sophomore seasons, Graves made five starts for the Mustangs while Brown made four starts for Cal Poly, who finished the year 6-6.
"They are so far ahead of where they were a year ago," Head Coach Tim Walsh said. "That just makes the expectations grow for that position and when the expectations grow for that position, it usually grows for the entire offense."
The quarterback competition is expected to continue throughout the remainder of fall camp. Cal Poly's first game is Aug. 28 on the road against New Mexico State.
