A statewide program in Pennsylvania has seen success in reducing the number of falls among the elderly.
The "Healthy Steps for Older Adults" program offers fall risk assessments for people over 50, as well as education on fall prevention.
The program has already reduced falls by 17 percent.
People who are at high risk for falls are referred to primary care doctors, and they're eligible for a home safety assessment that identifies whether or not there's a need for banisters or grab bars.
