Andy Rowley and Quentin Adlesh propelled the Mission Prep boys basketball team to a 67-52 win over host Arroyo Grande in a battle of Central Coast powerhouses on Friday during day two of the 40th annual Taro Kobara Tournament.
AG led 19-13 after the first quarter, but Mission led 29-28 at the half.
Rowley hit 4 three-pointers and finished with a game-high 20 points, while Adlesh added 15 points. Connor Woolpert added 9 points for the Royals, who improved to 2-0 in the tournament and 3-0 overall.
The Royals held Cobe Williams to 10 points and Matt Willkomm to 9 points. Dylan Brigham added 8 points. AG fell to 1-1 in the tournament and 6-2 overall.
Three Bearcats reached double-digits in points, but Paso Robles lost 55-51 to Hoover. The Bearcats led 39-32 to start the fourth quarter, but were outscored 22-12 in the final eight minutes. Matthew Van Dyke led the way with 19 points. Josh Oliver poured in 11 and Rudy Binkele added 10 for the Bearcats, who dropped to 0-2 in the tournament.
