San Luis Obispo Co. Sheriff's Office gives three awards for saving lives

Three employees of the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office received special awards for saving a life.

Sheriff Ian Parkinson says a committee decides which employees have done heroic acts while on duty.

He says the three recipients all saved lives in very different ways, "You have one gentleman that goes down with a heart condition, you have a second a seven year old that was basically drowned and then you had a third, a fire that they were the first responder that actually went in and evacuated people and put himself in danger."

Sheriff Parkinson says the three recipients say it's all in a days work and they are all very humble about being honored with the awards.
