The officer accused of being involved in a bribery scheme was released from custody Tuesday after posting $25,000 bond. According to the United States Department of Justice, Cory Pierce, 39, appeared in court on Tuesday but did not enter a plea.
Pierce, who worked for the San Luis Obispo Police Department for the past 6 years was arrested by the FBI. According to the Federal Criminal Complaint, Pierce is accused of selling, stealing and using drugs while working for the Sheriff's Narcotic Unit.
Pierce's arraignment is scheduled for March 13.
