The San Luis Obispo Railroad Museum is officially open.
A grand opening ceremony was held Saturday morning.
The new museum features model trains, historical displays, fun activities for kids, and tours. In one exhibit, guests can learn all about how the Pacific Coast Railway and the Southern Pacific Railroad played a huge role in the development of San Luis Obispo County.
"When I tell people in response to their question, 'where is the museum?' I tell them, it's the members, in their hearts all the volunteers that made this happen, all the people that donated artifacts," said Brad LaRose, the President of the Railroad Museum.
The outside of the museum has been under construction for the past 10 years, and workers are still putting some final touches on the inside.
The museum is located at 1940 Santa Barbara Avenue.
