San Luis Obispo Symphony hosts Family Concert

Central Coast families were invited to meet with animals and enjoy a day of music Sunday in San Luis Obispo.

The San Luis Obispo Symphony hosted its Family Concert.

The event was animal themed. Local wildlife preservation organizations, Zoo to You and Pacific Wildlife Care, came out to the event. Guests could meet their "Animal Ambassadors."

There was also a number of musical activities for kids.

"We are firm believers in the power of music education, and we think that this concert helps reshape the symphony image a little bit for young kids. Many of them might think that the symphony is just a bunch of stuffy old folks and clearly we're not," said Jim Black, the Symphony's Executive Director.

The Central Coast Children's Choir and Coastal Youth Ballet also came out to perform in the show.

This is the second year the symphony has hosted a family concert.
