People could be seen running, swimming and biking through San Luis Obispo on Sunday for the 35th annual SLO Triathlon.
The half mile swim portion was held at the SLO Swim Center. Cyclists then left the swim center parking lot and headed to Orcutt Road for the 15 mile bike ride. The 3.1 mile run ended at Sinsheimer Park.
About 1,000 people participated. Race Director Richard Ogden said that's about 25 people less than last year.
Some people competed in all three legs, while others participated in one of the 200 teams.
"Well this triathlon, I think that's what kind of attracts people," Ogden said. "It's not as competitive as some. Everybody gets a medal. We don't award places. So everybody is a winner in our book."
Ogden says they're already planning next year's race.
