The California Highway Patrol says one person was arrested following a car chase Tuesday afternoon in Santa Barbara County.
The CHP received reports about a person swerving and almost hitting another car around 4:20 p.m. on Highway 101, northbound of Mariposa Reina.
Officers say the driver, who was in a 2013 Toyota Corolla, turned around at Gaviota State Beach and headed southbound, driving dangerously.
CHP officers tried to stop the driver, but that person led them on a chase. Officers say the driver didn't stop at traffic lights.
Officers identified the driver as Kathryn Elizabeth Lafazan, of Santa Ana.
They were able to use a spike strip to puncture the tires of the car and bring it to a stop.
Police arrested Lafazan, and they say a DUI investigation took place after her arrest.
