Santa Barbara County has a new interim District Attorney.
At Tuesday's Board of Supervisors meeting, county leaders appointed Ann Bramson as interim District Attorney. She was formerly the Acting Chief Assistant District Attorney for the North County. She replaces Christie Stanley, who had announced her retirement a few weeks ago due to severe health problems.
Bramson has a long history with the Santa Barbara County District Attorney's Office. According to her biography on the county website, she began working at the office as an intern while she finished law school. She also teaches several classes at Allan Hancock Police Academy.
There was speculation that Assistant District Attorney Joshua Lynn was to be appointed to the interim District Attorney seat. He was filling in for Stanley when she went on a leave of absence in October. Lynn is also running for District Attorney against Joyce Dudley in the upcoming election. That primary is in June.
