Santa Maria police call off high-speed pursuit

Santa Maria police said they pursued a wanted parolee in a stolen car this afternoon and that the driver is still on the run.
Sgt. Chris Nartatez said the seven-minute chase went from moderate to high speeds before it was called off out of concern for public safety.
Sgt.Nartatez said the chase began when officers tried to stop the suspect, 25-year-old Bradley Larson. At the time, they said Larson was driving a stolen 2004 silver Honda Civic.
