Santa Maria Police searching for suspect in drive by shooting

1 Dead after Local Drive-by Shooting

The Santa Maria Police Department is looking for a suspect or suspects involved in a drive by shooting that happened Tuesday around 6:30pm.

Police say a pedestrian was shot while walking in the 600 block of West Mill. The victim was transported to a local hospital but was confirmed dead on arrival.

Police believe the shooting to be gang related.
