Santa Ynez enters tie for first after Totemeier's gem against Templeton

Santa Ynez High pitcher Hunter Totemeier threw a 3-hit shutout to outduel Templeton freshman Mac Lardner in a 1-0 Los Padres League win on Tuesday in Templeton.

The win forced a three-way tie atop the league standings with the Pirates, Eagles and Lompoc at 5-1. Santa Ynez is now 12-7 on the season, while Templeton lost for just the second time all year and is 12-2.

The lone run of the game came in the top of the second inning. Brock Dickey hit a topper toward first base, which allowed Troy Mauk to score from third. The rally was aided by a Templeton error.

Lardner took the loss despite allowing just 4 hits and the unearned run for the Eagles.

The Templeton softball team blanked Santa Ynez 10-0 in another LPL game.
