Season of Hope: Viewers donate toys for children in need live on Daybreak

Season of Hope, the Central Coast's biggest toy and food drive, is in its last couple weeks.

This morning our viewers delivered big time!

Daybreak Anchor Carina Corral was collecting donations of non-perishable food and unwrapped toys at the Cal Fire station in Nipomo.

She encouraged viewers to swing by to donate. Two women showed up separately to donate toys they had bought for family members, including a princess doll set and a Playskool bike. They told Carina they saw the need and were fortunate enough to be able to buy more toys for the children in their family. Toys delivered to local fire stations will be given to children in protective services.

Next Wednesday, Carina will be at the San Luis Obispo City Fire Department on Santa Barbara Street during Daybreak collecting more donations.

Donations can also be taken to any local fire station, Heritage Oaks Bank, CCPN office or the KSBY studios in San Luis Obispo or Santa Maria through December 14.
