Highway 101 in Arroyo Grande will be closed in both directions at Grand Avenue Friday night.
PG&E workers will be re-stringing power lines that came down during Thursday night's car accident. A suspected DUI driver crashed into a power pole and caused power lines to fall down on the freeway. About 5,000 PG&E customers lost power temporarily.
Work starts at 11 p.m., and it's expected to last up to 30 minutes.
There will be detours set up on both sides of the freeway. On the northbound side, drivers will exit at Grand Avenue and detour onto Branch Street before re-entering the highway at Brisco Road. On the southbound side, drivers will exit at Halcyon Road and detour onto El Camino Real before re-entering the highway at Grand Avenue.
The California Highway Patrol will be conducting rolling breaks to slow drivers down as they approach the highway closure.
