The San Francisco Giants World Champion Trophy Tour begins its three day stop on the Central Coast on Wednesday. The tour allows fans to take photographs with the 2010 and 2012 World Series trophies.
The tour stops first in Lompoc on Wednesday. It will be at the Dick DeWeese Community Center from 6-8 p.m. People are urged to get there early to insure they will be able to reach the trophy in time. It is located at 1120 West Ocean Avenue.
Thursday, the trophy tour will be in downtown San Luis Obispo at Farmers' Market near the intersection of Higuera and Nipomo Streets from 6-8 p.m. Thousands posed with the 2010 trophy in downtown San Luis Obispo when the tour stopped in town in February of 2011.
The tour's final stop on the Central Coast is Friday at the gazebo in Paso Robles Historic Downtown City Park. It is located at Spring and 11th Streets. The event runs from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Former Giants player Vida Blue will be there to sign autographs as part of the event. The six-time All-Star played for the Giants from 1978-81 and 1985-86. He also starred for the Oakland Athletics.
Fans can take photos of the trophies with their personal cameras up to a designated area while waiting in line. Once fans have reached that designated area, only the professional photographers will be allowed to take a posed photo of you or your group.
