WRIGHTWOOD, Calif. (AP) - A small earthquake has occurred in Southern California near the northeast end of the San Gabriel Mountains.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the 6:35 a.m. Friday quake had a magnitude of 3.5 and was centered 8 miles east-southeast of the mountain town of Wrightwood, or 18 miles northwest of San Bernardino.
The area is about 50 miles east of downtown Los Angeles near Cajon Pass.
The temblor occurred at a depth of 7 miles and has been followed by several more tiny tremors just over magnitude 1.
