Some Alzheimer's patients under represented in clinical trials

A new study finds Alzheimer's patients without a spouse are under represented in clinical trial data.
Research shows about 32% of Alzheimer's disease patients are cared for by their spouse. The rest are cared for by adult children or are in nursing homes.
Despite the fact patients with spouses as their caregivers make up a small group of the general population, they make up a majority of patients in clinical trials.
Researchers say this discrepancy could affect the results and interpretations of these studies.
